Community conversations about opportunity, impacts, & regional readiness

H&P Co-Hosts Educational Summit Focused on Data Centers
In January, H&P partnered with the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance to host an informational Data Center Summit that brought together local leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the growing role of data center development in central and southwest Virginia. The goal was to present clear, factual information, address common questions, and create space for community dialogue around this evolving sector.
Data centers support many of the digital services people rely on every day, including communication platforms, cloud storage, and online tools used by businesses and institutions. Speakers discussed how responsible data center development can create local investment and long term revenue while also requiring thoughtful planning around energy use, infrastructure capacity, and land use decisions.
Holding this conversation in Lynchburg helped clarify how data center growth intersects with regional planning, utilities infrastructure, and community priorities. If your locality is exploring data center opportunities or navigating questions from residents or partners, H&P can provide insight into how these projects align with site readiness and long term community goals.
