As the City of Lynchburg moves forward with improvements along Bedford Avenue, H&P is providing geotechnical engineering services to help inform the project’s design and construction. The corridor improvements are planned between Rivermont Avenue and Loudon Street and include pedestrian upgrades, ADA-compliant sidewalks, accessible ramps, improved crosswalks, curb extensions, traffic-calming features, and landscaping.
H&P’s role includes field investigation and site characterization, laboratory soils testing, and geotechnical engineering analysis and reporting. This work helps identify subsurface conditions along the corridor and provides the engineering data needed to guide design decisions, plan for construction, and contribute to long-term performance of the improvements.
